Detroit’s Maggie Cocco Gets Personal on Upcoming ‘Love & Life’

Double EP

I See You Single Release - Science for Sociopaths

“I See You” is something spiritual. It describes the help that comes just when you think all hope is lost. It’s the fundamental human experience of light penetrating the darkness of an ailing mind. It’s the reason we’re still here. Danger, danger said the girl on fire Somebody please help me out This world is…

DETROIT, April 27, 2018 – For Science for Sociopaths, writing and singing about

romance and growth is a labor of love.

The Motor City indie pop-rock singer-songwriter, aka Maggie Cocco, digs deep and gets

personal on her new nine-song double EP, “Love & Life,” which drops June 1.

On “Love & Life,” Cocco’s inspirational lyrics and soulful, powerhouse voice are

reminiscent of Carole King, Patti Smith, Kelly Clarkson and Emmylou Harris rolled into

one. Her richly-layered songs unravel relatable situations for fans who have

experienced the trials and tribulations of life and love.

Cocco will release the double EP’s first single, “I See You” from the “LIFE” EP on April

  1. The new single brings an acoustic foot-stompin’, finger-snappin’ tale of an

unexpected love facing personal triumph in spite of life’s ongoing challenges.

“‘Love’s four heartfelt songs explore infatuation, confidence, insecurity, frustration,

anger and loss as it pertains to romantic love. I was inspired to draw personally from

my own love life and pulled a ‘Taylor Swift’ of sorts,” said Maggie Cocco, who formed

Science for Sociopaths in 2016. With ‘Life,’ I dealt with the deep stuff bordering on

existential. Everything from self-love and being our best selves to life’s toughest

questions and big decisions. It’s real, and so sometimes it’s dark, but it’s always

hopeful.”

As part of her double EP artistic vision, Cocco collaborated with Nashville producer

Benjamin Warsaw through a long-distance partnership to mix and master “Love &

Life,” which was recorded in a variety of locations between Detroit, MI and Nashville,

TN.

While recording “Love & Life,” Cocco sought support from a growing and thriving

Science for Sociopaths fan base on Patreon, an online platform that allows artists to

receive funds directly from their fans, or patrons.

As part of Patreon, Science for Sociopaths patrons pay a nominal monthly fee for

exclusive access to live-streamed performances, artist insights and weekly downloads,

including tracks from “Love & Life.”

Cocco knows her audience isn’t niche and into run-of-the-mill venue hopping. Instead,

they’re proud to be part of a tight-knit, dedicated online Science for Sociopaths

community that’s eager for intimate, cerebral performances.

Cocco will host a Science for Sociopaths “Love & Life” double EP release party June 1

at the Detroit Institute of Music Education (1265 Griswold St, Detroit, MI 48226) and

live stream the event for her Patreon supporters
